Ballarat & District Soccer Association Presentation Night 2009 by Tony Beggs

Ballarat Junior Devil’s Adam Bogers won the Scott Anwyl medal for Best and Fairest Senior Player at the Ballarat & District Soccer Association Senior Presentation on Friday evening.  Bogers polled 24 votes from referees over the 2009 home and away season, beating by the barest margin his nearest rival Matthew Cannan from Forest Rangers on 23 votes. Bogers a well respected veteran centreman gained the winning 3 votes from the last round of the season to defeat the young and promising Cannan.

Sebastopol Vikings were the dominant club again this year winning both senior and reserves grade pennants for top of the ladder results and head into this weekend’s grand finals of the Cups as favourites to take out the double premierships.

James Maggi, the reserves grade captain for Sebastopol Vikings won the Life Members Reserve Best and Fairest medal with 26 votes. One of last year’s co-winners Anthony Barresi from North United was runner up with 18 votes. Jack Nulty from Daylesford & Hepburn United finished close behind polling 16 votes.

The goal kicking awards went to Maggi in the reserves with Oktevin Sri Dargon from Ballarat Junior Devils narrowly defeating Mitchell Hammond from North United in the senior goal kicking competition.
